Every one of these was groomed in our mobile van, one dog at a time, hand-dried and scissor-finished. Same coat family, five different looks.
Doodle haircuts we do
Every doodle groom is a full groom: bath, conditioner, blow dry and full brush-out, then the cut, then nails, ears, sanitary trim and a bandana. Tell your groomer the look you want, or send a photo when you book.
Teddy bear cut
The classic doodle look. Coat left at 1 to 2 inches all over, round fluffy face, rounded feet. Needs brushing at home three or four times a week to hold this length between grooms.
Puppy cut
Short and even, with a tidy face. The easiest coat to maintain and the most popular choice for doodles that swim, hike or get groomed every 8 weeks or more.
Lamb cut
Body clipped short with the legs left longer and shaped. Keeps the doodle shape while cutting the brushing time in half.
Summer cut
Short all over. Right for hot months, heavy matting, or owners who would rather not brush at all. Sometimes called a kennel cut.
Face and feet tidy
Round face, clean eyes, tidy feet and a sanitary trim on a coat that is otherwise in good shape. Available as part of Bath & Tidy.

Doodle grooming prices
Doodle grooms are priced by time. Most Goldendoodles, Labradoodles and Bernedoodles take 1.5 to 2 hours for a full groom, and large dogs, long coats and matting can run longer. We confirm the price before we start, so there are no surprises at the door.
What moves the price
Size
A 25 lb mini doodle takes far less time than a 75 lb standard.
Coat condition
A brushed, mat-free coat can be groomed at the length you want. A matted coat has to be worked through by hand or clipped short, and both add time.
Time since the last groom
Coats groomed every 4 to 8 weeks stay manageable. Past 10 to 12 weeks, matting is almost guaranteed on a doodle.
Style
Longer teddy bear cuts take more scissor work than a short puppy cut.
Temperament
A dog who stands calmly is groomed faster than one who needs breaks.
Two doodles
Two doodles at the same address are groomed back to back in the same visit.
How the appointment works
A doodle groom in the van, start to finish.
You book online or by text and we call to confirm pricing and details before the day. The booking form asks for a photo of your dog, which is how we estimate the coat.
We give you a one-hour arrival window and send an on-the-way text. All you need is standard curbside parking near your door. The van has its own water, power and hot water, so nothing gets hooked up to your home.
Your groomer meets you at the door, goes over the cut and any concerns, then takes your doodle into the van. One dog at a time, no cages, no kennel dryers and no other animals.
Owners wait inside the house. Doodles settle faster when they cannot see you. Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours for a full groom, sometimes longer for a big dog or a matted coat.
We bring your dog back to your door and go over anything we noticed, like ear irritation or a mat we had to clip. Pay by card, Zelle or cash at the van.
A responsible adult needs to be home for drop-off and pick-up. We ask for 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule.
How we handle a matted doodle
Doodle coats mat from the skin out, so a coat that looks fine on top can be felted underneath. Here is exactly what happens at each level.
Light tangles
Brushed out as part of every groom at no extra charge.
Moderate matting
Mats behind the ears, in the armpits, on the belly or between the pads are worked out by hand where it can be done without pulling on the skin. This adds time and is charged at our hourly rate.
Severe matting
Tight mats across the body or a felted undercoat are clipped short. Brushing through it hurts the dog and can tear the skin. Your groomer picks the longest blade the coat allows. It grows back, and the next groom can be the cut you actually wanted.
We do not shave a coat without telling you first, and we do not brush a dog through pain to save a haircut.
After a shave-down
You may notice pink skin, a few small nicks where mats were tight against the skin, or head-shaking from newly exposed ears. That is normal for a day or two. Call us if anything looks worse than that.
To avoid it next time
Brush to the skin, not just the top, with a slicker brush followed by a metal comb, and book grooms 4 to 8 weeks apart. If the comb does not glide to the skin behind the ears and under the collar, the mats have started.
Questions doodle owners ask us
How often should a doodle be groomed?
Every 4 to 8 weeks for a full groom, depending on the length you keep. Puppy cuts can stretch to 8 weeks. Teddy bear cuts need 4 to 6 weeks plus brushing at home.
When should a doodle puppy have its first groom?
Around 12 to 16 weeks, once vaccinations are complete. The first visit is short and gentle: bath, dry, nails, face and feet, so the puppy learns the van is a calm place.
How much does it cost to groom a doodle?
Our rate is $147 per hour. Most doodle full grooms take 1.5 to 2 hours, and large dogs, long coats and matting can take longer. We confirm the price with you before we start.
Can you groom my doodle at my apartment or condo?
Yes, as long as there is curbside parking near the entrance where the van can sit for about two hours. The van is fully self-contained, so it needs nothing from the building.
Do you groom Bernedoodles, Sheepadoodles, Aussiedoodles and Cavapoos?
Yes. Any poodle mix, any size, from a 10 lb Cavapoo to a 90 lb Bernedoodle.
Will my doodle be in a cage or under a kennel dryer?
No. One dog, one groomer, hand-dried with a stand dryer, start to finish. There are no cages in the van.
My doodle is matted. Can you still groom it?
Yes. Light and moderate mats are worked out by hand. Severe matting is clipped short for the dog’s comfort, and we tell you before we start. See our matting policy above.
Do you need a photo of my dog?
Yes, the booking form asks for one. It is how we estimate the coat and give you an accurate price before the appointment.
